Travel Pix

As I headed westward over the weekend, rest stops became photo op's.  This visitors center in the Seneca Nation area was a good stretching place:

These flowers were growing in gardens by the visitors centers:

My Belated Found Poetry Art

This isn't really "poetry," just a very wordy collage (depending on how one looks at it):

Oh, Impala!

There must have been a car rally in the area, or someone was just taking this beauty out for a ride:

There's something classy about some of the older cars.  They just don't make them like they used to!

And Now, The Poppies...

A very large area of lawn was covered with red poppies seven years ago  They bloomed around Memorial Day weekend (at the end of May).  This year the blooming area is about 1/4 of what it used to be, sad to say.  I often enjoy the close-up:

An "Interesting" Day...

Let's see...  First, I misplaced my key ring with house and car keys, only discovering them missing when I got into the car to go somewhere.  Retracing my steps, I finally recovered the keys. Meanwhile a cable or telephone truck had pulled into my neighbor's driveway to work on a leaning pole. When I walked into the back yard to check their progress, I saw this:

And then this:
And would you believe it, when they were all done, all that remained of the old pole was about a four-foot length dangling between the wires!  And here I thought they were going to replace the old pole with a new one!!!

While pulling out of my driveway, I noticed something lying on the ground by the road.  It was--- my mailbox!  I wonder if the large white truck had tried to turn around at our place before pulling in at the neighbors'?  Someone evidentally miscalculated, and knocked our mailbox right off the supports to which it was bolted.

Next, I had somehow mixed up the time for my appointment for some car service.  I missed the 10 o'clock slot.  Fortunately there was an opening when I arrived by mid-afternoon.  While waiting for my car to be serviced, I took a walk and found this spot in which to rest and make a few phone calls:
Peaceful, quiet, no one to bother me...

Some other things happened that were "interesting" but fortunately, I've already forgotten them. Maybe tomorrow will be duller.  One can hope...
