Alcohol Ink Serendipity

Have you ever been surprised by the way your art efforts turn out?  This piece started with junk mail.  Soon I had a purple blob with a large awkward flower on it.  I almost left it that way.  But then I decided to add some alcohol blender solution.

After reworking some areas, I noticed a white area near the top.  And then- I imagined a face.  Somehow it had turned into a strange woman in a billowing robe.  Don't ask me how...

Playing With Alcohol Inks

Most of these are on Glossy Photo Paper
with rubber stamped images:

Deli Waxed Paper

I use these sheets to wipe acrylic paints off of my brayer and texture combs while working with the Gelli Printing Plate.

Valentine Artist Trading Cards

These also started as one full-sized
sheet of white card stock.
I added a layer of printed tissue paper
over the Gelli-Plate printed background,
rubber stamped some images
and finished with gold glitter
and "gems" stickers.

Red & Gold Layered Artists' Trading Cards

I like to start with a full-sized sheet
of white card stock which I
I collage,  paint, and rubber-stamp
before cutting it into individual trading
cards, which I finish with more collage.

Some Altered Tags

These were fun to decorate.
I started with India Inks
over manilla tags for some
of the backgrounds, painted papers
for others, decorative paper napkins
on a few, some stickers, then added collage
and various fibers:

Holey Moley!

I don't want to "make a mountain out of a mole hill," but this is the view out the window, now that our snow has melted:
