Fingerpainted Cards

After watching a YouTube presentation about fingerpainting on a Gelli Plate to make backgrounds for art designs, I had to try it.  A little stencil work, some rubberstamping and collaged postage stamps filled out the designs.  I circled the black shapes with a white pen and used a bottle cap to make the larger rings. These were fast, simple, fun to make.  From three pieces of cardstock I cut out six post cards and nine Artist Trading Cards.  That's a pretty good return for some art play!

Almost Full Moon

I wasn't sure if this would turn out at all.  There were two parallel of clouds, one above and one below the moon.  My little camera didn't capture the scene, but I had to try.

Inks Play - Part 3

These three included rubberstamping
over alcohol ink which was
dripped onto a
dye ink background:

For these two designs I added marker lines:

(and stickers)

And for this one, I drizzled rubberstamp ink
over the alcohol inks background, added
white marker spirals and rubber stamped images:

Inks Play - Part 1

I watched a YouTube presentation about
using Alcohol Inks on the Gelli printing plate,
 and spent several productive hours
playing with a combination of inks
including dye inks.  The below were
made with drip techniques
on brayered backgrounds:

Artist Trading Coins

These are so much fun to make, it's hard to stop at just one!  (Here are the fronts and a few of the backs from two recent art sessions...)

Joe Pye Weed

The butterflies and the bees seem to love
this tall purple flowering plant,
but are they ever camera shy!
I really had to sneak up on them.
