Getting a ROUND to making more art :)

It's been a while since I've had some fun in the art room.  There's something pleasing about working with round shapes.  Maybe because there aren't any corners to fill. Maybe I should move to a round house???

The above all started with Alcohol Inks backgrounds.  I addded gold marker, gold rubber stamped images, collage.  These all measure approximately 5+1/2" across.

Some I planted, some the chipmunks planted.
There are some veggies growing in the garden
if you look through the sunflower jungle for them...

My (Borrowed) Watermelon Strategy

Unfortunately I can't remember who told me
about this.  I wish I had made it up myself!

This is an easy way to make cubes, less
messy than sliced.
Seedless watermelon

Cut in half length-ways from the top

Cut in quarters length-wise

Slice vertically

Slice Horizontally parallel to top surface

Finished slicing one side, turn it around

Slice second side Horizontally

Run blade along the rind to scoop out cubes

Pile of cubes
 So refreshing!!!

Sharing Personal Thoughts...

About four years ago when Karen I. was getting ready to step away from managing the online group mail art blog, I was loath to see it end.  So I waved my little hand and said "Ooo, ooo, pick me!  pick me!"  After some thought and questions, she did.

It was an honor to step into her shoes, so to speak, and to do my best to learn how to keep the group active and vibrant as she had.  Sometimes I wonder how I was brave enough to do that.  My desire to continue was greater than my hesitations.  I have had this personal blog for over 20 years and have found it enjoyable to post pictures and observations from time to time.  But I had never run a group blogsite.

Now after my four years as Blogsite Administrator/Group Swaps Moderator I am faced with some forced changes to the blogsite.  The alternative is to launch out completely on my own and start a brand new group art blogsite with a different company.  This is something I have never done before.

MMSA means a lot to me, not only for providing opportunity for others to try different techniques with prompts and exchange their art with other artists, but also for helping people become acquainted and forming friendships.  The friendships I have found are delightful and priceless.

It's a challenging adventure, one which I hope has a happy continuation.  Stay tuned!!!  :)
