Rorschach Inspired Abstract Art

Alcohol inks design by hhc

The interesting aspect of this technique of smooshing paint or ink along the inside fold of cardstock or photo paper is that the results are always unpredictable.  Opening up the folded paper reveals a surprise.

However, there are ways to "help it along" in any direction you want, by pressing along the fold, or pushing the paint or ink outward from the fold either with fingertips or a blunt object like a pen or wooden tool.  Fanning out the pressure creates another effect.

The fun part is looking at the resulting design and imagining what it can be.  Rotating the paper changes the perspective as well.

Okay, I'll admit it, it's almost impossible to stop!

Some Altered Mini-Rolodex Card Art

I've had SO much fun recently, collaging these mini-Rolodex cards, front and back, for some up-coming group art swaps and individual (one-on-one) exchanges.  They are delightful to view when displayed on a Rolodex flat tray or a revolving holder for a flash of color or inspiration.

Some Paper Art for March

I've had fun recently with collage, drawing, acryllic paints and Alcohol Inks.  I've also been challenged to organize/clear/clean up the art room.  Bit by bit, progress is slow...

Finally Blooming...

I've seen poinsettia's not make it after Christmas, but someone told me to water very sparingly and not often.  It worked!  Here it is, almost Spring, and this plant is still blooming.  Yay!  Oh, such gorgeous  color.

IT'S ME, BUT IT''S NOT.

A recent group swap on the MMSA group art site prompted me to make my own Self Portrait art, and of course it doesn't really look like me.

Or does it?

Showing some of my many, many hobbies...

This towel-wrap picture looks more like a cousin...

And here's some recent GREEN swap art:
