DAY #40 - Oreo Cookie Challenge !!!!!

FINALLY!!!  The day we have all been waiting for:

my last decorated/altered/enhanced

Oreo Cookie.

I thought sparklers would be a bit

over-the-top (and dangerous in the kitchen)

so I opted for candles.  And sprinkles.

NO FIRE HAPPENED HERE.

I ate the sprinkles and candy letters/numbers

(but not the candles),

as well as the last OREO cookie 
I ever want to see.

It was actually was my breakfast since I went

out to the garden earlier to work the soil before

the rain starts.

AFTER 40 DAYS OF PLAYING WITH MY FOOD,

NO NEED TO STAY TUNED...

DAY #39 - Oreo Cookie Challenge

Beware the temptation of check-out line displays!

This OREO cookie has an added filling

of peanut butter, and

is sandwiched between 

two King-Sized Reeses Peanut Butter Cups.

WOW!  That was a mouthful!

Literally!

I've eaten more candy

during this cookie challenge

than I have in the past year!!!

I'll be glad to be finished,

as this is NOT good for my diet!

NOTE TO SELF:  

Avoid the cookie/candy aisle.

DAY #38 - Oreo Cookie Challenge

For this cookie sculpture

I brushed up on my French:

"non pareil" means

 having no match or equal, unrivaled.

Should I stretch it and add

"unparalleled?"  Although

I did try to keep the layers

on the level.

Here is my

Non Pareil stack with four,

no less, no more:

 or....six or seven layers, 

depending on how you look at it,

held together by chocolate frosting :)

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!!

Chocolate on chocolate,

a win-win, right?

This Oreo, sitting on a blue cap

on a RWB patriotic flower bouquet wrap

is stuffed with ROLO candies,

smothered in blue vanilla frosting.

and topped with MILK DUDS.

Messy and super sweet!

Hanging Out Alone

Sawed-off Power Pole

Do you ever feel disconnected,

like you're hanging around with

no sense of purpose?

This piece of power pole has been dangling

for at least a year since the rest 

of the bent/leaning pole was cut away,

despite the utility company saying

they would replace it.

I has just taken two pictures of it

when the trucks pulled in with

their lifts and hard-hat workers

to put up a new pole.

There's beans, and then- 

there's "has-beens."

Well, I has beans,

so I'll use beans.

Today I took someone else's suggestion.

using garlic chickpea hummus

to anchor some assorted cooked beans

on the top of this

altered Oreo Cookie sculpture:

While I was wandering around 
an Amish country store
the bulk candy aisle called my name.
I just couldn't resist some
triple-coated malt balls.
Have you ever heard of such a thing?

Early "HAPPY MOTHERS' DAY" Wishes!!!

On an overcast day

with the sun occasionally breaking through,

these tulips are a bright spot

in an otherwise reluctant Spring garden.

garnishing the lowly OREO cookie today.

Shredded mozarella (oops, Swiss) cheese, pepperoni, mushroom- mmmmm!!!

This pizza parlor makes the

ABSOLUTE best pizza in all of

Western New York State.

Here's another improvement on the

dry, boring OREO cookie:

This is my version of the 

TRIPLE STUFFED OREO

with chocolate frosting beneath

and on top of the usual white frosting filling.

More frosting on top of the cookie

holds the Mn'M's.

Very delicious if you like sweets...

Here's an unlikely combo:

A sandwich made with an OREO cookie

between two slices of cooked sweet potato
(a sandwich in a sandwich!)

on a lovely Shenanco China bowl
out of Newcastle, PA 
(Can you tell that I like diner china?)


with a side order of a sweet potato "taco"

filled with Spinach Artichoke Dip.

And they both were delicious!!!
