Do You Want To Build A Snowman?

It has been decades since I attempted to make a snowman.  With bright sunshine and deceptive warmth, I thought the snow would pack easily and it would be fun.  Not so.  The top 6" of new snowfall were fluffy and dry and wouldn't stick together.   Suffice it to say:  I'm  out of practice!!!

So, here's your laugh for the day:

How do you like my Snow Post?  Hat holder?

My mother said it looks like a walrus.   (?)

And I'm NOT taking a picture of my "snow angel."  Truly sad :/

Large Envelopes

These were all cut out of a long sheet of brown packaging paper.  Three have silver-on-white tissue paper over them, two have painted Deli Wax Paper over them.   Several have collage as a final layer, one has rubber stamped designs.  Edge stitching and detail stitching was done on my 1970's Singer Sewing Machine.

Some Piggy Art & Trivia

These collaged post cards were made for an online mail art group swap.

I could think of a a few pig quotes which I may not get exactly correct, i.e.

"When pigs can fly..."  and

"Trying to teach a pig to sing is an exercise in futility.  You not only waste your time, you annoy the pig."

Some fun facts:  Piglets will respond to their names 20 days after birth.

Also, the screams of pigs can drive elephants to panic, which was a useful strategy in disrupting Hannibal's battle tactics.  (Check your history books...)

Pigs are quite interested in staying clean, but lacking proper showering facilities, must roll in the mud to keep cool in hot weather.

They are some of the smartest animals on the planet.

And they have four toes on each foot but only use two to stand on.

More Alcohol Ink PC's and a Heart

Rubber stamped images added
This heart design started with a rectangle of scrapbook paper.  I cut out a heart-shape from plain paper using zig-zag scissors and positioned it onto a Gelli Printing Plate that had light grey acrylic paint spread on it.  Then I centered the rectangle face down over the heart and pressed it onto the Gelli Plate, picking up the grey paint.  This left the original scrapbook paper showing through, resulting in a heart-shape.  Pink paint through a diamond stencil made the borders.
