Not only are pets fun to watch (good entertainment value), I'll bet you didn't know that the perfect remedy for a headache is:  apply one chipmunk!  Ha! 

Colors of Nature

No matter how many colored leaves I see, I can not get over how very beautiful each one is.

Today With Saddened Hearts We Remember

I remember exactly where I was, what I was doing, how I felt 19 years ago today.  My wall quilt (pictured above) was the result.  My dear neighbor/friend Shirley A. composed these two poems (adhered to the back) a month later.  She is now gone.   

We will never forget.  Prayers go out for the families and loved ones of those who died- both the victims and the first responders, and those who live on with injuries and illnesses that resulted from their unexpected proximity, and/or from their brave response to the call of danger.

Autumn Leaves Early

 

 I can't get over how gorgeous these colors are, 

and how early the trees are dropping their leaves.

Today a very strong localized wind snapped

tree tops off, littered the yard with branches,

and completely uprooted

some large trees in a nearby town.

Power and phone service were out

for about an hour.

Exciting!

Most of theses started out as trimmings from three sheets of cardstock (11" x 8+1/2") that I first painted with yellow/ orange, green.  Then I added collage (old sewing pattern and cut out's) and rubber stamped images.
