Abandoned Chick?

This baby robin was crying out loudly in the
bush outside my kitchen window this afternoon.
Then he disappeared.
Later I was picking blackberries in the nearby
woods and- there he was.  He even stayed put
while I ran in for my camera, then posed quietly
for a few pictures.
I wonder where his mother was, and why he is
so young so late in the summer.  Hope he learns
to survive before winter sets in...

Nature's Brush Strokes

These cloud wisps fascinated me this morning:
Actually, besides brush strokes,
they look like fossil remains I might find
in the shale beds.

Dew on the Pink Lily

59-degrees and sunny this mid-summer morning.
What a lovely sight!
