Flower blossoms were few this Spring: the crab apple skipped it's joyous pink-petaled stage, and only these peonies opened up. In a large patch of orange poppies, there were just a few that matured. Closer to the house, a lone iris bloomed amidst plenty of leaf blades. I missed the usual profusion of color! Perhaps the summer perennials will make up for it.
