There are some wild cherry trees near here. In the past I have made many different varieties of preserves, one of which was a lovely pink jelly from this fruit which birds inadvertantly plant in the woods. The fruits looked so pretty glowing in the sunlight, which of course shifted after I went in to get my camera.

More Nature Pictures
The Turk's Cap Lilies are just opening,
and the hummingbird has scouted them out.
Several years ago I watched a chipmunk
climb the stalks for the black seeds.
This purple and green Echinacea/Cone Flower
is new to the garden this year.
Crocosmia always thrills me.
They appear more salmon pink
than deep red this year.
It's hard to believe this flower is in the iris family!

Drop Cloth Art: Be Square
I've been working in a square format lately: 1+1/2", 2+1/2", and now 5+1/2" sizes. The two squares below were prompted by my "drop cloth" (freezer paper covering work surface). I just couldn't throw it out!
The shapes (Alcohol Inks spots), marks (permanent marker) and color combination almost looked Oriental to me.
So I backed the freezer paper with thin cardboard, cut it into two squares, and enhanced a few lines with black acrylic paint, later adding orange marks with acrylic paint. I really like the way these squares turned out!
TIP: I've begun sanding the back sides of my papers before adhering with White Glue, burnishing well to help them stay together, using waxed paper as a slight buffer over the art.

Art Experiments
Since I have just heard about Artists Trading Coins, and after watching a few YouTube presentations on how to make them, I just had to give it a try. I haven't quite refined the finishing process, but here are some of my first efforts:
Then I made some Art Tidbits:
An Artists Trading Card:
And some 2+1/2" squares:
It was a very fun day!

Some Green Art
I tried to limit myself to just using the color GREEN.
There appears to be yellow in some of these,
but it really was a yellow-green. Really!

Strangeness |
Okay, yes, there is blue in the postage stamp,
but the shiny circles were painted
with dark bluish green.
SMOOSH-PAINT ART:
I can't bear to cover up these
imagination-stirring designs...
