Two quick thoughts:
If you have to wrestle with a banana
to get it to part with its peel,
and you win,
it will be a bitter victory.

If you get a phone call stating
that you placed an order with Amazon
for "X" amount of dollars
and you should call back
to confirm your order,
DON'T.
Don't even pick up the receiver.
It's a scam.
It happened to me today,
I let the call go to voicemail,
and looked online to find out
who the true caller was.
It was from a foreign name in Texas.
According to the Internet,
Amazon does NOT call to confirm an order.
Today was another baking day. I mixed up bread batter for three large loaves. They turned out dense, chewy yet moist.
Each loaf weighs about 2+1/2 pounds!!!
Here are the ingredients:
whole wheat flour
unbleached flour
Millers' bran flakes
rolled oats
wheat germ
coarse cracked wheat berries
baking powder
ground cinnamon powder
ground flaxseed
raisins
whole milk & cider vinegar
I already cut into the third loaf... |
I tried a new cookie recipe that called for maple syrup and pecans. But I really wanted to make it peppermint with chocolate chips instead. Sooooo..... I did!
And I wanted to make some post cards with my previous Dylusions Inks background papers. Sooooo.... I did!
Watching YouTube art technique demonstration can lead to purchasing new art materials and then- spending hours trying them out.
I recently ordered some Dylusion Shimmer Inks online. Yesterday's art session resulted in these full-sheet pieces. I used stencils on some, and flicked gold Alcohol Ink spots on others:
which made these 1/2 -sheet notes:
OOPS, no photograph available. It did take some scrubbing to remove the ink stains. Note to self: wear painters plastic gloves next time. Since these are spray inks, I highly recommend putting down lots of freezer paper or brown packing paper over the work surface to protect it. I think I will try a spray fixitive now that the pieces are dry, as the ink still comes off when handled.
A cardstock or sturdy paper would also be be better than copy paper as the inks do soak in a bit when wet.
But the colors are SO gorgeous and vivid. I can't wait to use these papers and make more sometime soon.
